New Ministry Partner

Greeting Siblings in Christ,
I am excited to announce that Faith Lutheran Church is officially entering into a partnership with Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal Nueva Jerusalén La Celestial of Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Several weeks ago, Nueva Jerusalén reached out to Faith after having read on Faith’s website that we let outside groups use our space.  In conversation, they informed Faith that they were “currently praying and searching for a larger worship space in the area.” The following week, six representatives of their congregation came to Faith and toured our space. After having seen our space, Nueva Jerusalén thought that Faith’s space was perfect for their growing congregation. Over the next several weeks, Nueva Jerusalén and Faith’s Congregation Council discussed in detail what Nueva Jerusalén was looking for and whether Faith would be a good fit. Four representatives of Nueva Jerusalén then attended Faith's monthly council meeting on March 4, 2026. There both parties were able to address any questions that one had. After the representatives of Nueva Jerusalén left the meeting, Faith’s Council had a greater conversation and voted unanimously in favor of allowing Nueva Jerusalén to use our space. Over the next week, Faith’s Executive Council worked with the leadership of Nueva Jerusalén in constructing a building use agreement. This agreement was then approved by the Executive Council and signed by both parties. Nueva Jerusalén will be moving things into Faith on March 28, 2026 and the following day will be their first service. One of the reasons why I am making an official announcement of this is because Nueva Jerusalén is asking for a significant amount of time and space. Nueva Jerusalén will be somewhere in our building for at least 4 of 7 days of the week in the evenings. Below you can find a more detailed schedule. This will be a big change for Faith. We will have to be more intentional about our schedule. There will be a lot more people coming in and out of our building. We will have to be more intentional about not leaving stuff out if someone is using the space the next day. They will be using the sanctuary, the Sunday School rooms, the fellowship hall, and adult forum room. So, this will be an adjustment for us.  However, Faith’s Council believes that we have made this decision in our best interest. Our decision to allow Nueva Jerusalén to use our space was mostly a financial one. However, we are excited for what future partnerships this agreement may bring. We also recognize how energizing and Spirit filled this agreement may be for Faith. This agreement also aligns with Faith’s own mission and our slogan “where the name of Jesus is spoken! If we are able in this way to further speak Jesus’ name, then we are furthering Christ’s mission here on earth. Thus, I look forward to the future and what this agreement may bring. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the council or directly to me. I would be happy to answer any questions. Below you can find a brief description of Nueva Jerusalén and their proposed weekly schedule.

Peace and Blessings, Pastor Ethan Doan

Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal Nueva Jerusalén La Celestial has been serving and growing in the Lansdale region for the last 3 years. Their mission is rooted in Mark 16:15: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel.” Over the last 3 years, Nueva Jerusalén has been led by  Pastor Melvin Villanueva, who faithfully answered the call to preach the Gospel here in Pennsylvania, traveling about three hours one way from Maryland to shepherd and serve the congregation. Nueva Jerusalén has three sister congregations in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Norristown. Nueva Jerusalén is a growing congregation that worships 50-70 people during weekend services and 30 people at weekday evening services. They are very excited for this new partnership with Faith and they hope to develop a closer relationship with the members of Faith as they settle in.

Lord, when did we see you...?
The purpose of the Social Ministry Team is to follow Jesus' commandment to love one another as he loved us.  To offer opportunities to our congregation to be good and faithful servants.  To share the love and truth of Jesus Christ and to offer hope to all God's children by giving of our time, our money and ourselves to our church, our community, and the world.

Social Ministry Project for April/May 2026:
There are two exciting Social Ministry projects coming up in April and May. First is a two-month collection of funds in support of the Philadelphia Region Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Ronald McDonald House Charities support the families of people who have children in the hospital for a variety of medical issues including pre-term growth, illness, surgery, and cancer. They provide housing, food, transportation to the families, as well as emotional support, social and creative opportunities, tutoring and so much more!
Debbie Hollenbach became more aware of this organization in September when her granddaughter Nadia was born 3 months premature at Medical City in Dallas, TX. Her parents, Ricky and Bethany stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Dallas for over 100 days – having a private room, meals, access to laundry facilities and other amenities, all at NO CHARGE to themselves! This allowed them to spend unlimited time at the hospital, caring for Nadia and even working remotely. Sharon Hood has shared that she has also supported this organization for over 20 years.
Funds are raised in a variety of ways, but people can pledge to provide financial support to families in the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald Houses/ Living Rooms at $25/night. Let us see how many nights Faith Lutheran Church can provide support to a family! Look for a poster and collection can in the Foyer for the months of April and May.

The second project is the Feast Incarnate dinner at University Lutheran Church in Philadelphia. We participated in this outreach in May 2025, and the people involved were really moved by the experience. We committed to prepare and serve two meals in 2026. We will serve the same menu each time – Mini Meatloaves, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, and honey walnut cake. The dates are May 27 and September 15. Watch for the poster containing food items to donate as well as asking for volunteers to make the meatloaves and to help to serve the meal in Philadelphia.

16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.  (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NLT)
