Dwelling in the Word Lenten Bible Study
The word “dwell” or “abide” is used frequently in Scripture, meaning to live or remain somewhere or with someone for a time. The purpose of Dwelling in the Word is not about answering questions or getting to particular results but rather allowing ourselves to be present with God’s living Word (Central/Southern Illinois Synod).
This Lent at Faith Lutheran and Jerusalem Lutheran, Pastor Ethan invites all who are interested to participate with him in “Dwelling in the Word.” Each week, Pastor Ethan and those who would like to participate will dwell In the lectionary texts for the following Sunday. At Jerusalem (11:00 am); 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, 3/25
At Faith (11:00am); 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:16 (ESV)
The Listening Life: Embracing Attentiveness in a World of Distraction by Adam S McHugh
"Be quick to listen, slow to speak." —James 1:19
Our lives are qualitatively different—indeed, better—when we become listeners. Heed the call to the listening life and hear what God is doing in you and the world.” Throughout the year, our congregations will be meeting monthly to discuss the book. Each month there will be two different sessions for one to pick from. We are taking a break for the month of March and will resume this study in April.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and
lead me along the path of everlasting life. Psalm 139:23-24, NLT
The “Golden Girls of Faith” (Golden Men are welcome too!) will be meeting once a month for lunch, fellowship and prayer at a local restaurant. This month they will be meeting on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 this month. For more information or if you need a ride, please talk to Anna Friedrich. All are welcome!

SOCIAL MINISTRY PROJECT FOR FEBRUARY & MARCH – WOMEN, BABY & HOUSEHOLD ITEMS FOR LAUREL HOUSE
Laurel House, located in Norristown, incorporated in 1981, is dedicated to the vision of ending domestic violence in individuals (both women & men), families and communities throughout Montgomery County. They are an advocate for those impacted by providing a safe haven, supportive programs and resources, as well as advancing social change through preventive education, community training and collaboration to create a coordinated response to domestic violence.
The name was selected because of the beauty of the laurel, Pennsylvania’s state flower. It represents a victory for people who have taken the courageous first step of reaching out to Laurel House in their efforts to build a violence-free life for themselves and their children.
We have decided to support this ministry by answering their “wish list” and providing in New and Original Packaging:
Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, New Pillows, Lysol Disinfectant Spray, Pine Sol (Lemon Scent), Nitrile/Latex Free Gloves (M/L), Scrubbing Bubbles Bath Cleaner, Fabuloso Floor Cleaner, Windex, Journals, Fruit Cups/Canned Fruit, Juice Boxes, Lunch Snacks/Cookies/Chips/Crackers/Fruit Snacks, Baby Wipes, Size 4 Diapers.
Please put these items in the purple Barney bin.
Just a reminder for another way you can support this ministry. Laurel’s Loft is a thrift shop on North Broad Street & Cowpath Road, Lansdale. They have a wide selection of clothing for the whole family, as well as jewelry and small household items. They are also in constant need of donations in gently-used condition.
Thank you for supporting this ministry by listening to God’s directive …. love & serve others.

Update on January’s Social Ministry Project
During January (and early February due to the snow!) we collected individual packets of tissues and bags of candy for the residents of Paradise Manor in Hatfield. Everyone signed a Valentine’s Day Card for each of the current residents. The day before Valentine’s Day, Debbie Hollenbach dropped everything off at Paradise Manor. The administration was excited about the donations and planned to set everything out for the residents on Valentine’s Day! Altogether we signed 22 individual cards for the residents, collected 10 cube boxes and 145 individual packets of tissues (very much appreciated during this season of the year!) and 13 bags or boxes of candy. Thank you for everyone who participated to help the residents of Paradise Manor and to making them feel loved!
