The finance committee is spending long September hours drafting a 2020 budget proposal. In October we will make this draft available for the congregation. During this time we ask you to begin to prayerfully consider your commitment to our congregational life in a variety of ways- your financial support (pledge) and also what gifts and time do you have to offer to the mission and ministry we are building and growing? Be looking for news from your financial team in the next few weeks to help you to consider, fill out and return your commitment sheets. We will be receiving the sheets in early November to be ready to present and vote on the final budget at our January annual meeting. God has blessed us so richly. We are blessed to joyfully offer what we have first been given.

Tools we’ll need: spades, shovels, garden rakes and leaf rakes; wheelbarrows, wagons and tubs; and chainsaws, lopping shears and wood hand saws.

Holiday Bazaar
Faith is going to hold their annual Holiday Bazaar on Friday, November 8 (4-8PM) and Saturday, November 9 (9AM- 2PM). We will need members of the congregation to help out during the event as well as before the event as we need some muscle for set-up and then take-down. We are soliciting vendors to sell their products and will have several tables of which we will be in charge. Please search your closets and help us out in the following areas! We will have a kitchen with soups/ salads/ hot dogs for sale. Please contact Chris Jones about making soups. We will have a raffle table and Sharon Hood needs help in obtaining donations of gift certificates and other goodies from the businesses in our area. Please ask Janet Hill (Church Office) for a donation letter. We will be selling jewelry that you are tired of or just want to replace with something new! We will also have an area where we will be selling donated Holiday Items or gifts. We will not have an Attic Treasures or Bargain area this year. We will not be sorting items and storing them in the shed for another event this year. We will not be selling clothing. We welcome your donations but would like to restrict them to decorating or gift items for the upcoming Holidays! Look for sign-up sheets and more information closer to the event.
Annual CROP Walk – October 6, 2019
CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local groups to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world. The North Penn/Lansdale CROP Walk returns 25 percent of the funds raised to Manna on Main Street, a Lansdale-based food pantry and soup kitchen serving more than 30,000 meals a year. There are many ways you can participate in the CROP Hunger Walk:
▪ Walk the route
▪ Support a walker with a donation
▪ Pray for the CROP Hunger Walk and for the poor and hungry
Join our Faith team online or in person on Sunday, October 6.
Walking is our Faith in Action and each step represents hope. It is also an act of solidarity for those who have to walk for food, water, health services or other challenges. Monies are raised for Church World Service (make checks to: CWS/CROP) and Manna on Main Street. Walkers can choose either the standard 5-mile walk or a shorter 1-mile stroll.
Please bring a canned good for Manna on Main Street’s food cupboard as your “registration fee”. There are sign-up sheets on the Foyer doors where you can sign up to walk or sponsor our walkers. Walkers will also have to sign a waiver which you will receive prior to the walk. Sponsors can also go to www.crophungerwalk.org to sponsor team members with an online donation. Look for the North Penn/Lansdale CROP Walk and our team from Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Faith walkers will carpool to Trinity Lutheran Church at 12:45 pm from the parking lot at Faith or meet at Trinity at 1:00 pm. Don’t forget to wear your Faith t-shirts!!!
Participants are invited to enjoy snacks and fellowship in Hyson Hall at Trinity Lutheran Church following the Walk.
See Mary Lou Foster for details.
